Scriptures: Psalm 139:1-6 and 7-12

Call To Worship
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure

It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves,
“Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?”

Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small doesn’t serve the world.

There is nothing enlightening about shrinking
So that other people won’t feel insecure around you
We were born to make manifest the glory of God
That is within us.

It is not just in some of us;
It is in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine
We give other people
Permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
Our presence liberates others.
-Marianne Williamson

Prayer of the Beloved Community

May we seek to heal and to nurture the earth and all its creatures,
To live in the midst of creation,
And to love one another as brothers and sisters
With all life.

Prayer of Dedication

We are thankful that we are called into communion with each other.
We are always surprised by generosity and compassion.
We have a vision of inclusion, solidarity, and love
Which breaks us open, widens our sympathies,
And enlarges our hearts.
Let us care for those whom it would be easy to forget:
The homeless and the hungry, the addicted and the lost,
Abandoned souls and hurting children.
We seek imagination and generosity
So that we may minister in the name of love and compassion
To those who are most in need.
Let us seek to serve the needy, the rejected, and the forgotten.
Let us confront out indifference, challenge our boundaries,
And be surprised by joy.
Let us look upon this suffering and glorious world
And keep our sympathy and compassion fresh.
Let us keep our faces turned toward love
Lest we grow hard.
