Wishing Anna Draper’s strings students the best of luck at their recital in the CUCC of Valley City’s sanctuary today, Sunday, May 15, 2016…a special good luck message to Jack Lerud, one of the youngest members of our church, who plays violin on the recital!!

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a member of our church family, Paul Riemerman. He passed away on Feb. 25 after a brave struggle with lung cancer. The funeral will be on March 7th, 11:00 am, at the church: 217 4th St NW, Valley City.

A fun day was had by all on January 10, 2016 as it was “Artistic Rendition Sunday”. Members shared their various talents during the service as well as at the dinner following the service in which delicious dishes were prepared by the chefs/bakers in our midst.
Thank you, Pastor David Hartson, for suggesting that we have such a service. It was a great way for our members to not only view, celebrate and wonder at each other’s talents but to simply relax and enjoy each other.
We thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated each other’s musical performances, poetic/comedic readings, and culinary and visual art works, as expected. What we enjoyed and appreciated just as much (if not more so!) were the displays that were seen after the performances: the shining smiles, heartfelt hugs, meaningful compliments and listening ears. These works were shared today, too, and have helped us to remember that while we all have special talents and abilities the most important acts in our lives are our acts of kindness…to all people (and animals!!) no matter how similar or different they are to ourselves.
There was a benefit for Paul and Sharon Riemerman on July 6 to help cover Paul’s medical expenses as he continues to battle lung cancer. THANK YOU TO ALL WHO DONATED TO THIS EVENT; OVER $4,000 WAS RAISED TO HELP PAUL AND SHARON. A HUGE THANK YOU TO BETTY PEDERSEN AND DONELDA REMMICK, ORGANIZERS OF THIS BENEFIT.

All are invited to our 5:00 candlelight Christmas Eve service. Attendees will be treated to a performance by local singer Victoria Hammel. We thank Victoria for sharing her talents with us this holiday season and look forward to her Christmas Eve solo. Thank you, Ms. Hammel!!
Our church will have its youth Christmas program followed by dinner in the Fellowship Hall. We look forward to seeing you!!
